A 70-YEAR-OLD man has died after a crash on the A83 near Arrochar, say police.
The man was driving a red Jaguar XK8 Coupe which left the road while travelling eastbound near Ardgartan at around 6.05pm on Saturday, September 24.
Emergency services attended the scene of the accident, which police say happened on the Old Military Road, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A83 in the area was closed for almost eight hours, and re-opened around 1.55am on Sunday, September 25.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone withinformation to get in touch.
Sergeant Archie McGuire of Police Scotland's Argyll and West Dunbartonshire road policing unit said: “At this time, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased, following their tragic loss.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I am particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a blue coloured car, possibly a Fiat, which was travelling from Arrochar and may have witnessed the car prior to the crash.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2815 of 24 September, 2022.
* Edit: in their initial media release, Police Scotland said the man who died in Saturday's crash was 60 years old. This has now been corrected in the article above.
