Fitness fans from across Scotland and beyond descended in large numbers on the bonnie banks at the weekend for the 2022 LussFest and WOD on the Loch festival.
Tw o full days of activities kept festival-goers of all ages busy, with many of them taking part in the tough WOD on the Loch events themselves – though many more were equally happy to just sit back, soak up the atmosphere and watch others put themselves to the test in six different – but equally gruelling – challenges over the two days featuring running, swimming, mountain biking, weightlifting and more.
The weekend’s packed programme also featured a variety of live talks, workshops, gym sessions, interviews, competitions and demonstrations of the latest fitness kit and accessories, along with live music, dance and yoga sessions, and even – for those for whom ‘festival’ featured slightly higher up the priority list than ‘fitness’, or for those who simply needed to refuel after the rigours of the WOD on the Loch events – street food and a licensed bar.
Kyle Russell, the event’s founder, told the Advertiser afterwards: “WOD on the Loch 2022 promised to be bigger and better than last year and it did not disappoint.
“It was an amazing two days of fitness, food and fun in glorious weather. It really could not have gone any better.
“We are already looking forward to 2023 and some of the exciting events we have planned.”
