FOUR sailors from the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club in Rhu have won the British Keelboat League’s women’s championship title.
Alison Morrish, Emily Robertson, Anna Dobson and Catherine Martin-Jones triumped at the Dubarry Aquatech Women’s Open Keelboat Championship at the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hampshire at the weekend.
They amassed 60 points in the course of the event’s 15 races, finishing in first place in no fewer than seven races and taking a place on the podium in all but one, ediging out the Scorpion Class team of Catherine Maguire, Vicky Lincoln, Ellie Pegg and Hannah Buchanan in the battle for the crown.
Teams from all over the UK and beyond - including Eastbourne, Poole, Essex and even the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club in Bermuda - took part in the event.
