A humpback whale has been spotted in the Clyde, officials have announced.
The office of the Queen's Harbour Master Clyde (QHM) - the Royal Navy team which is the port authority for the waters around HM Naval Base Clyde - said the mammal was seen within Clyde Dockyard Port waters.
It was seen in Loch Goil on Saturday, July 16, according to a notice published by the QHM on Monday afternoon.
Mariners have been advised to use caution in the area.
They are also asked to keep a safe distance from the whale when navigating.
If the whale is seen, call QHM Harbour Control on VHF CH73 or 01436 674321 Ext 3555/4005.
In 2020, a pod of up to five whales was spotted near Helensburgh, prompting rescue attempts after concerns for their welfare.
Scientists traveled to the area to monitor the situation and there were concerns the animals might not be able to get past the naval base at Faslane.
One of the whales was later found dead after attempts to herd them away from the Gareloch to deeper and safer waters.
