A YOUTH football team in Helensburgh is aiming to raise money by taking part in a sponsored cycle this weekend.
Helensburgh FC's 2011 age group squad will visit four football stadiums this Sunday as they look to get themselves kitted out for the season ahead.
They will start at Celtic Park before visiting Hampden Park, Ibrox and then ending at the Dumbarton Football Stadium.
At the end of the journey, covering almost 27 kilometres, the youngsters will be rewarded a well-earned feed at McDonald’s in Dumbarton.
Over a dozen kids are set to take part with the target of £500 well over halfway to being met already.
The club have previously raised money in the pandemic for the NHS and local nursing homes as well as delivering gifts to local emergency services and are now turning their attention to making sure they've got enough cash in the kitty to keep the team running over the 2022-23 season.
The 2011’s are going into their seventh year as a team and a JustGiving page has been set up for contributions - click here to add your donation.
