MEMBERS of a Helensburgh-based charity for older people came together on Saturday to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
More than 75 people marked the occasion at Grey Matters Active Ageing’s party at Helensburgh Parish Church.
Members wore their finest outfits and reminisced whilst sharing photos from 70 years ago.
The hall was decked out with flags and decorations made by the group’s young volunteers, the GM Juniors.
The members enjoyed lots of cake, fun, and dancing at the event.
Manager Alison Gildea said: “I was absolutely delighted to see so many people getting together to have a wonderful time.
“Thank you to all the fabulous volunteers who made cakes and helped in the kitchen and clearing away.
“Thanks to Maria for the pre-party dance tuition. Thanks also to our young volunteers who helped make decorations and judged the best crown competition.
“With it being volunteer week, it proved to be a double celebration.”
Member Sylvia McQuiggan added: “The Grey Matters Jubilee party was very enjoyable. We got the atmosphere of the jubilee weekend.
“Good company, food, and entertainment. What more could we want.”
Ann Roberts, who also attended, said: “It was so good to meet other members and have fun.
“I made new friends which is the ethos of Grey Matters Active Ageing.”
