FROM bulldogs to Bichon Frises and from collies to chihuahuas, man’s - and woman’s - best friend was everywhere you looked at Loch Lomond Shores.
The venue’s Top Dogs Day Out attracted owners and their perfect pooches from across Dumbarton and the Vale and far beyond, with the humans eager to pick up the perfect treat for their pet and all the dogs eager to meet new friends.
As well as a dog show competition, with all the proceeds going to the Scottish SPCA’s Milton animal rescue centre, the attractions on the day included groomers, pet health specialists, canine photographers, a dog trainer who specialises in working with puppies, and even a qualified clinical canine massage therapist, as well as food, fun and games for all the family.
There was also a market with plenty of treats, accessories and clothing for the discerning dog, as well as lots of space in and around hte loch to allow the canines present - and perhaps even one or two of their humans - to splash around and walk off their excess energy.
And the event was a hit with both, with one member of the public taking to Loch Lomond Shores’ Facebook page to comment: “Had a great day today, our husky was so excited to see all the beautiful dogs.”
Next on the events calendar at Loch Lomond Shores is a two-day food and drink market on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
