KIND-HEARTED pupils from Hermitage Primary helped raise almost £1,000 recently to support the crisis appeal for Ukraine.
Members of the school’s charity committee organised their ‘Ribbons of Hope’ campaign prior to the spring break, with children encouraging their families to donate what they could to receive a blue and yellow ribbon - representing the colours of the country’s flag.
Messages of hope were then written by the recipients on the ribbons before being tied to the school’s front gates.
A magnificent sum of £931.65 was raised for the DEC’s appeal to support the crisis.
Committee member Finlay said: “We were sad about what we saw happening and wanted to help change people’s lives in Ukraine so that they can have a better future.”
Fellow member Georgia added: “Ukrainians are in a lot of grief and sadness right now, we did an amazing job raising money for them.”
