More than 30 volunteers attended a beach clean organised by Helensburgh Community Council (HCC) on Saturday, collecting a total of 60 bags of rubbish.
Residents, both young and old, met at the beach to remove litter and debris which had been washed up during winter storms.
Groups such as Plastic Free Helensburgh, The Rotary, Bin Twinning, and Grey Matters were also represented.
A large skip was sourced by Argyll and Bute Council, with the GRAB Trust providing extra litter pickers.
David Howie of Drumfork Farm also removed a trailer full of driftwood and used his tractor to clear away seaweed choked with plastic.
Sarah Davies of HCC said: “It is worth remembering that every piece of rubbish and plastic removed is a piece which won’t enter our precious marine environment.
“Strangest find of the day was a discarded LP record - a reminder that plastic stays in our seas for a very long time!”
“The best reward of all was the positive comments received from locals and visitors as we cleaned and the sight of happy smiling children playing happily on the beach after we had finished.”
After a high volume of used wipes were found during the clean, residents are being reminded that many of these products contain plastic and should never be flushed down a toilet.
HCC will continue to host beach cleans throughout the summer, meeting at 10am on the last Saturday of each month.
