DETAILS have been published of the funeral service for a former Helensburgh Advertiser editor who taught hundreds of young journalists in Scotland.
Donald Fullarton died at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, aged 77, on Tuesday, March 29.
Donald started working for the Advertiser in August 1965 and was still contributing to his home town paper until a few weeks before he died.
After leaving full-time journalism in the late 1990s he taught news writing to student journalists at Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University.
He also oversaw the senior exams held by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) in Scotland across five decades, and spent more than 50 years taking matchday pictures of, and for, Dumbarton FC.
His funeral will be held at Cardross Crematorium on Wednesday, April 20 at 12.30pm.
A notice published by James Auld Funeral Directors of Helensburgh invites "all friends and family" to the service "to celebrate a life well lived".
