A former Hermitage Academy pupil has been recognised for his work as a gamekeeper at a national awards ceremony.
Logan Bainbridge, originally from Tarbet, saw success at Lantra Scotland’s Awards for Land-based and Aquaculture Skills (ALBAS) - an event which celebrates trainees and learners in Scotland’s agricultural and rural industries.
The award winners were announced at a ceremony held at Dunblane Hydro on Thursday, March 3.
Trainees and learners were recognised for their work in categories such as agriculture, aquaculture, and environmental conservation.
Logan won the prestigious Tam Tod Trophy for outstanding young learner, as well as being runner-up in the Game and Wildlife category.
The 18-year-old knew he wanted to be a gamekeeper from a young age, taking on work experience with stalker Jason Ferguson at Ardkinglas Estate at Cairndow.
After leaving school, Logan, who received his prize from sheep farmer and social media star Cammy Wilson at last week’s ceremony, studied an NC in gamekeeping at SRUC Elmwood in Fife.
On gaining his qualification, Logan secured employment with Eishken Estate on Lewis where he has taken on a full-time role as under stalker gamekeeper.
He is also a member of Arrochar Gun Club, and is the only junior member ever to have won its ‘clubman of the year’ accolade.
