POLICE arrested a driver on the edge of Helensburgh on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs.
Officers stopped a van on Cardross Road at around 1pm on Tuesday, January 25 for a routine check.
Police are said to have become concerned at the demeanour of the driver and what appeared to be the smell of cannabis from within the vehicle.
A drugs test was carried out which the driver, a 28-year-old man from Alexandria, allegedly failed, with results reportedly showing levels of cannabis in his system.
The man was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office where a blood sample was taken.
He was released from custody pending the receipt of lab results from the sample.
