THE ladies of Cardross Golf Club held their annual dinner, prize-giving and AGM recently.
At the AGM they thanked outgoing lady captain Kath Brown, who captained the section during 2021, and welcomed the incoming lady captain, Isabel Cullen.
The ladies’ section is growing in strength and the club is delighted to see many faces, old and new, enjoying golf at Cardross.
This year, up until October, a total of £1,452.85 was raised in charity donations, distributed amongst the following charities – Macmillan Cancer Support, Enable, Breast Cancer Care, the Red Cross, Alzheimer Scotland, Mary’s Meals and Erskine.
A further £275 was raised at the club’s annual prize-giving, with the money going to Children In Need.
Prizes were presented to most of the season’s competition winners, though three – Yvonne Burnett, Lorraine Campbell and Margaret Stirling – were unable to attend the event in person.
This year’s ladies’ champion was Lorraine Campbell, and the bronze champion was Isabel Cullen.
The dinner and prize-giving was a memorable celebration of this year’s ladies’ golf, as well as being a fun evening in its own right, and members are now looking forward to the 2022 season.
