A NOTICE to Mariners advising sailors to be alert to construction work on the east shore of Loch Long has been cancelled following completion of the project.
The notice, relating to construction work to expand the MoD’s Northern Ammunition Jetty at Glen Mallan, had been in place since January.
The Queen’s Harbour Master (QHM) Clyde announced on Tuesday that the notice had been cancelled.
The original jetty was demolished and replaced as part of a £64 million scheme to enable the Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers, to visit the loch.
HMS Queen Elizabeth spent a week alongside at the jetty in March, loading up stores ahead of the ship’s first operational deployment.
