A MAN has been accused of spitting at an officer inside Helensburgh’s police office.
Officers were reportedly dealing with a male within the reception area of the East King Street station shortly after 6pm on Thursday, October 7.
According to police the man was the subject of an apprehension warrant and he was informed that he was going to be placed under arrest.
While being searched before being taken into custody he is said to have spat, without warning, at the male officer conducting the search.
No contact was made with the officer.
The 23-year-old male, from West Clyde Street in Helensburgh, has been reported to the procurator fiscal for alleged police assault.
