A MAN reportedly reversed his car into Loch Long and had to be pulled from the water after fleeing from police last weekend.
Officers were contacted by the family of a 25-year-old local male on Friday night, October 1 who were concerned for his wellbeing.
The man was traced at around 9pm in the Glen Fruin area within his Seat vehicle, and officers were able to confirm his identity before he allegedly drove off in a dangerous manner, causing one officer to have to jump clear of the car to avoid being struck.
Further police resources were called to assist with the incident, and the man was later traced in an Arrochar car park by officers.

After the police vehicle’s blue lights were activated and the driver was asked to stop his vehicle, he reportedly failed to do so and collided head on with the cop car before reversing his own vehicle into Loch Long.
According to police the man was removed from the water and, after ensuring he was safe and well, charged with two counts of dangerous driving and failing to stop for a constable in uniform.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal in relation to the incident.
A police spokesperson said all of the officers involved in the incident were unharmed.
