POLICE officers in Helensburgh have raised a report of fraud and launched an enquiry after receiving an allegation surrounding intended building works in Kilcreggan.
Police say they received a report of a building company, trading from a premises on Bath Street in Glasgow, having taken a substantial deposit from a member of the public for intended building works in the village.
The company reportedly failed to carry out the work and have yet to return the complainer’s deposit.
A fraud report has been raised and enquiries are continuing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We would like to remind people to take all necessary precautions and checks before parting with any money prior to any works starting.”
