BRAVE swimmers have returned to the bonnie banks for the first GoSwim event in Loch Lomond after lockdown.
The open water swimming experience allows participants to swim anywhere from 250m to an aquathlon.
The exhilarating, challenging and safe events are open to anyone, whatever their age or ability.
Event director Richard Pearson said the event was a success.

He said: “We stopped operating in March 2020 and we didn’t start again until GoSwim Loch Tay the weekend prior to the Loch Lomond event.
“The feedback has been very good, people have been desperate to get back.
“There has definitely been a surge in open water swimming with pools being closed and a lot of first-timers sticking their toe in the water and enjoying it.
“There’s a whole new audience for us as well as our existing swimmers.”
Organisers put in a range of measures to make the event Covid-safe.

Richard added: “This year we had to restrict numbers and we spread the start times over a longer period of time.
“We also spread the event site out a lot more to try and discourage gatherings around the bag-drop, toilets and changing room areas.
“We always ensure participants feel safe and comfortable at the events.”
