STAFF at a Helensburgh medical practice have called for more respect from patients after raising concerns over "rude and aggressive behaviour" from some.
A text message sent to Millig Practice patients, and shared on social media, urged people to support the practice's efforts during the Covid pandemic by showing "kindness and understanding".
The appeal read: "We are extremely concerned and disappointed that our staff are increasingly having to deal with rude and aggressive behaviour from patients.
"We want to make it very clear that this is completely unacceptable.
"Our staff are entitled to be able to do their job in a safe environment.
"Millig practice operates a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive behaviour, be it verbal or physical, against our staff.

"We understand that many of you are feeling tired and frustrated by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We are feeling exactly the same way and are doing our best under severe pressure.
"Please support our efforts to look after the community’s health and wellbeing with kindness and understanding."
Facebook users have been quick to offer their backing, with one responding to the post on the Millig Practice page saying: "Very sad indictment on society today.
"Staff do not deserve this.
"Please know that I am extremely happy with the service provided and by patience and good manners of staff."
Another commented: "NHS were the heroes, now we are the villans for some reason."
And a third wrote: "Very sad to hear this, I am very happy with the service provided by all staff."
