HELENSBURGH youngsters recently enjoyed a picnic with their favourite furry friend at Geilston Garden.
The teddy bears’ picnic was organised by the garden’s owners, the National Trust for Scotland (NTS), and saw youngsters come together alongside their teddy bears for a day out with family and friends.
Ruth McKechnie, visitor service assistant with the NTS at Geilston Garden, said: “We were delighted to welcome so many well-dressed bears and their families to Geilston Garden.
“The Picnic Trail allowed visitors to explore the gardens while they were in full bloom, and it was fantastic to see families (complete with their teddies!) picnicking in the sunshine.”
Geilston Garden is now open to visitors every day until October 31 from 10am until 5pm.
This Sunday, September 5, there’s a fund-raiser by the Friends of Geilston, with home baking, a visit from Helensburgh’s beekeepers and a short concert by the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir (see p8 for more detail), while the next NTS event is a Walking Theatre Company performance of Hansel and Gretel on September 18.
