A POPULAR comic book convention returned to Loch Lomond Shores last Saturday.
The Big Glasgow Comic Page (BGCP) had already held a successful comic book and toy market in the area on July 24, with Helensburgh and Lomond residents getting to see their favourite fictional heroes up close and personal.
And BGCP’s second visit saw the Scotland Power Rangers arrive at the bonnie banks, ready to have their photos taken with fans on August 21.
As well as the Power Rangers, the popular Imperial Scottish Garrison, whose Star Wars costumes wowed the Loch Lomond crowds on their last visit, also returned to the Shores.

Traders had comic books, graphic novels, action figures, trading cards, art, and more on sale - and were happy to discover that the enthusiasm of the area’s comic, fantasy, sci-fi and cosplay fans hadn’t been dampened by weather which was the classic example of the Scottish word “dreich”.
Posting on the Big Glasgow Comic Page after the event, a spokesperson for the organisers said: “Thank you to everyone who attended Loch Lomond on Saturday, we had a great day with the exception of the weather.
“We’ll return to Loch Lomond next summer bigger and better than before.”
And it’s not too long before the next big event on the calendar at Loch Lomond Shores - the return of the Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival on the weekend of September 4 and 5, making a welcome return to the venue after the 2020 event fell victim to Covid restrictions.
