A TEENAGER was treated at hospital for a facial injury following an alleged unprovoked assault outside Helensburgh Central station over the weekend.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy was attacked outside the train station on Saturday night, August 14.

At around 10.25pm, the youth was outside the station in the town centre when he was approached by two people and sustained a facial injury. He received treatment at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Officers say they are keen to speak to two youths - one male, one female - seen in the area at the time. The male was wearing a khaki jumper and black trousers, and the female was wearing a black Nike top, with light grey leggings.

Detective Constable Imran Abuzar said: “This attack was completely unprovoked and it’s imperative we trace those responsible.

"Enquiries so far have revealed there were a number of people in the area, some of whom came to the teenager’s aid.

“Officers are keen to speak to members of the public who can help with enquiries.
