THE summer school holidays in Helensburgh and Lomond might be drawing to a close...but there are plenty of happy memories for local young people to look back on once the new term begins.
Three weeks of fun summer activities were held in Helensburgh and Lomond at the peak of the holidays, which saw children and young people given the opportunity to take part in a range of indoor and outdoor sport, art and wellbeing activities.
The programme included football, rugby multi sports, outdoor education, art activities, table top games, martial arts and even ‘Pursuit of Wisdom’ sessions, run by local duo Lorna Davies and Jacqueline McGill aimed at engaging children in ‘mindful’ thinking to boost their mental health.
The programme was run by Argyll and Bute Council and was delivered by a mixture of teachers, support staff, trainee teachers, central education staff and Live Argyll employees, including Live Argyll’s Active Schools and community learning and development teams.
