TALENTED young people from across Helensburgh and Lomond have been flocking to the Cove Park artist residency centre throughout the summer holidays to help an innovative new outdoor classroom take shape.
The weekly Summer Studios sessions, held at the Peaton Hill centre every Friday, have seen chilldren of primary and secondary school age learn about the processes, materials and planting considerations behind the eco-sustainable project.
Part of Cove Park’s Future By Design initiative, the workshop activities have included seed bombs and rewilding, sensory mapping, stop motion animation, and natural dyeing

The workshops, supported by and run in collaboration with the British Council, have been led by graduates from the Glasgow School of Art and the Mackintosh School of Architecture, with the most recent session on Friday, on model making, led by GSA graduate Sissy O’Neill.
The classroom itself will begin to take shape from the middle of this month and is scheduled to be launched in September.
