SHANDON sailor Anna Burnet has won a silver medal for Team GB at the Olympic Games in Japan.
Burnet and her team-mate John Gimson took second place on the podium at Enoshima Yacht Harbour behind the Italian duo of Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, after finishing fifth in Tuesday's medal race in the Nacra 17 multi-hull class.
The race itself was won by Argentina, with Denmark second and the USA third.
France finished in fourth place, with the Italians one place behind Team GB on the day to take the gold medal overall, with Germany taking the broinze after a seventh-place finish.
Earlier in the day, Rhu's Charlotte Dobson saw her hopes of a medal in the 49erFX class with crewmate Saskia Tidey dashed after the due finished in sixth place in the overall standings.
Brazil took the gold medal, with Germany winning silver and the Netherlands bronze.
Tuesday also saw the conclusion of the opening series of races in the men's 470 category, with Rhu's Luke Patience and team-mate Chris Grube lying fifth overall going into Wednesday's medal race.
