AN ARROCHAR hotel is set to welcome a Pop Idol runner-up for a live gig this weekend.
Gareth Gates is scheduled to play at the Loch Long Hotel on Saturday, July 17 with limited tickets for the event still available as the Advertiser went to press.
The 37-year-old shot to stardom when he finished second in the first UK series of Pop Idol, missing out on the top prize to Will Young in 2002.
He has since sold five million records worldwide, released three albums and had five UK number-one singles.
