IF you need someone to help show you how to save the planet, you could do a lot worse than give the children from Kidlywinks Nursery in Clynder a call.
They hit the streets of the village recently, taking part in a litter pick to celebrate Earth Week while talking about how important it is to look after the place we all call home.
The litter pickers and their adult helpers set out along Rosneath Road, then headed up Annach Mhor Road and along Back Road before coming back down Pier Road to the nursery.
Katie Baker from Kidlywinks told the Advertiser: “The children were so engaged with looking for any rubbish that they could find.
“We spoke about safety before we left so the children knew what they could pick up and what not to touch.
“They had disposable gloves to protect them from germs and they put all the rubbish they found into a black rubbish bag.
“We managed to fill a whole bin bag full of rubbish just on that short walk.
“On return to nursery we emptied the rubbish onto a big tray so that we could sort through and see what we found the most of – metal, plastic and general rubbish.”
