THERE are now just two physical bank branches remaining in Helensburgh after the town’s TSB shut down last week.
The East Princes Street unit closed for the last time on Wednesday, January 13, leaving the Burgh with only the Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland branches, both of which are in Colquhoun Square.
The Advertiser revealed in September that more than 900 UK jobs were set to be lost, including around 300 in Scotland, after TSB announced a major network shake-up of its branch network.

Opening hours at the Burgh branch had already been slashed 12 months earlier as the company - and the sector - faced up to a shift in customer behaviour, with a reduction in the number of people using branches and an increase in digital banking.
The next nearest TSB branches to Helensburgh are in Main Street in Alexandria (open between 9.30am and 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays), although it, too, will close permanently in May; and in Clydebank’s Clyde Shopping Centre (open from 9am-2pm Monday-Friday; 10am-2pm on Wednesday).
