A MAN who allegedly sped off from police after being asked to stop has been charged with driving dangerously through Helensburgh.
Officers reportedly saw an Audi Q7 being driven erratically along West Clyde Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning, December 30.
After signalling for the vehicle to stop to ensure all was in order, the driver is said to have made off at speed heading towards Rhu and Faslane.
Officers pursued the car but lost sight a short time later and a look-out was broadcast while other stations monitored roads in and out of the town.
