THE grandson of TV pioneer John Logie Baird will be the guest speaker at the first Helensburgh Community Council (HCC) ‘webinar’ of 2021 this week.
Iain Logie Baird, a curator and writer, will speak about ‘Curating Television in the 21st Century’ at a talk to be held via Zoom on Thursday, January 14 at 7pm.
Other talks will be given by Stewart Noble on ‘Henry Bell and the Comet’ (Thursday, February 4); by Sarah Davies on the climate change emergency and its impact on Scotland and Helensburgh (Thursday, February 18); by Sarah Davies and Irina Agostinelli on recycling in Helensburgh and making the town a plastic free community (Thursday, March 11); by Audrey Baird and Fiona Baker on protecting, funding and restoring Scotland’s remaining ancient woodlands (Thursday, April 1); by Stewart Noble on the Scottish planning system and how it affects ordinary residents (Thursday, April 15); and by Andrew Nisbet on LiveArgyll (Thursday, May 6).
