A GROUP of young Helensburgh rugby players are set to raise funds for the RNLI by taking their regular training session out on to the streets of the town this weekend.
Helensburgh Rugby Club’s under-15s are taking part in a Reindeer Run on Saturday, December 19, leaving the clubhouse at Ardencaple at 10.15am and jogging along Rhu Road Higher, past Kidston Park, along the seafront, through Colquhoun Square and back along West Montrose Street.

All the way through they’ll be passing a ball between themselves, while their coaches have lined up some Secret Santa challenges as they go.
Coach Ian Smith said: “This is a fun way to end a dismal year of rugby. We will be taking a few rugby balls and whistles with us and will be doing silly tasks along the way - in keeping with distancing guidelines.”
