THE owners of the Maid of the Loch paddle steamer will team up with Industrial Museums Scotland this weekend to broadcast live footage of the ship’s engines in steam to a global audience.
People across the world will be able to watch the 4k 360-degree footage online on Saturday, September 19 as part of the Scotland-wide ‘Go Industrial’ festival.
But the sight and sound of the famous ship’s engines won’t be restricted to an online audience – now that the popular attraction is open to visitors following the easing of lockdown restrictions, the Maid’s owners, the Loch Lomond Steamship Company, are hoping to attract a stream of visitors to the vessel at Balloch Pier to enjoy the experience in person.
Standard admission prices apply; the Maid is open from 11am to 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday, until the end of October.
