HELENSBURGH and Lomond is mopping up after heavy rain, flooding and landslides swept across many areas on Tuesday – and the disruption, at least in some areas, looks set to continue for a while yet.
The A814 was closed due to flooding near the Faslane peace camp on Tuesday afternoon after a burn burst its banks, blocking the main road between Helensburgh and HM Naval Base Clyde and flooding a number of gardens in the area.
But a post on HM Naval Base Clyde's Facebook page shortly after 5am on Wednesday stated that the flooding had cleared and the road had reopened.

However, the A83 remains blocked east of the Rest and Be Thankful after large, multiple landslides blocked the trunk road at Glen Croe following an estimated 65mm of rain during the course of Tuesday.
The road was closed overnight and trunk road maintenance company BEAR Scotland said safety assessments would resume at first light on Wednesday, with motorists travelling between central Scotland and Argyll facing a diversion of almost 60 miles via the A82, A85 and A819.
The West Highland railway line also remained closed on Wednesday morning after heavy rain caused a landslide between Helensburgh Upper and Garelochhead stations.
