A MAN has been charged with allegedly intending to commit theft after being spotted wandering about Rhu Marina in the early hours of the morning last month.
Staff at the marina called police to report that a male had been observed on CCTV cameras on two separate dates during June, driving into the marina yard in the early hours of the morning, parking a vehicle and walking around the premises looking into boats.
After viewing the marina’s CCTV footage, a car registration number was obtained by officers and an enquiry eventually identified the suspect as a 34-year-old man from an address in Rhu.
Police said the man has been charged with “being within the curtilage of the marina in circumstances from which it can be inferred his intention was to commit theft”.
