TWO green-fingered pupils from Rosneath Primary School have featured on the BBC’s popular Beechgrove Garden TV programme.
P2 pupil Bobby Baker and Lucy Gillon from P1 were inspired to create their own miniature gardens at home during the coronavirus lockdown – after the school as a whole was successful in a competition to design a ‘pocket garden’ earlier in the year.
The Rosneath design was to have been built at the beginning of the summer term, and exhibited at the Gardening Scotland show at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh at the end of May, before the coronavirus lockdown saw schools closed and the show cancelled.

But the Beechgrove production company decided they still wanted to feature some of the stories behind the gardens.
Rosneath Primary P2/1 teacher Lorna Gillespie said: “I am so proud of the children and their hard work and engagement throughout this whole process. They have been amazing and their families have been incredibly supportive."
The programme was shown on the BBC Scotland channel at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 9 - watch it on the iPlayer by clicking here (UK users only).
