POLICE in Helensburgh are appealing for the public's help as they investigate reports of a man apparently spotted lurking in the gardens of several in the town.

A male was reportedly seen in gardens in the William Street area on the evening of Tuesday, June 23, at around 10.45pm, and possibly into the early hours of Wednesday, June 24.

The suspect is described as wearing a distinctive camouflaged jacket, black Nike jogging trousers and blue and white Nike trainers.

Police say they have CCTV footage of the man and an enquiry is ongoing to identify him but anyone with any information is asked to contact Helensburgh police office.
