A HIGHLAND dancer from Helensburgh has attracted a worldwide audience after posting a video of her own specially-created routine on social media.
Abbie Ferguson, 21, spent more than two hours dancing outside her home in the town – not to one of the traditional Highland dance tunes played by a solo piper, but to DJ Casper's 2000 dance floor party hit Cha Cha Slide.
After some gentle persuasion by her mum, Lorna Potter, Abbie was persuaded to post the finished video on Facebook – and it quickly became a huge hit.

Lorna said: “Abbie was reluctant at first to let me share it but when I did friends, dance friends and strangers started messaging asking if they could share it too. My Facebook and Abbie’s Facebook became red hot!
“After a few days, the video was up at 7,000 views, even reaching as far as American dance schools. It was all done as a bit of fun and some extra exercise for her dancing friends.
“Abbie doesn’t like the limelight at all but I am so proud of her amazing dance talent and her ability to choreograph such a fun piece of work.”
