AS staff at the West Dunbartonshire animal rescue centre care for 132 animals during the coronavirus pandemic, members of the public are being asked to help by donating much needed cat food and litter.
The Scottish SPCA centres across the country are currently closed to the public meaning that rehoming is on hold and animals are being brought in without any leaving.
At the Milton centre, there are currently 132 animals being cared for with 28 of those being feline who are going through supplies at an “alarming rate”.
Kim Mackrell, centre assistant manager, said: “Our teams are still working hard behind the scenes to provide the animals in our centres the care they need.
“We’re currently caring for 28 cats and they are going through food and litter at an alarming rate.
“We know that times are uncertain, but we are asking that people don’t forget the animals.
“To continue to give the animals the best possible chance at finding a forever home, we do need help from members of the public.
“Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic we can only accept donations sent directly to us from Amazon or any other online retailer with a delivery service.
“We understand that times are difficult just now but we, and the animals, would appreciate anything that people can spare.”
Gourmet cat meat, wood pellet litter and other items can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wishlist here.
Or items can be purchased from any other reputable online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre.
