SCHOOLS may be out for summer, and possibly beyond, but there was just enough time for one Helensburgh primary to squeeze in a final musical performance before the nationwide shutdown recently.
Pupils and staff at Hermitage Primary were treated to two dress rehearsals of act one from their Oliver stage production on Friday, March 20 as a fitting send off on their last day.
The full show was due to be performed just before the Easter holidays but the P6 and P7 dress rehearsals were brought forward to give the hard-working children a chance to demonstrate their work.
The first performance for P1-3 saw Jessica Hendry of P7 take the lead role, followed by Kara Hamilton of P6, who performed for P4 and 5.

Head teacher Elspeth Davis said: "Although it wasn't the audience they had prepared for, the pupils did a fantastic job of entertaining the school on an emotional day.
"The show had been rehearsed for several weeks and the pupils were excited to put on their costumes for the first time and perform to a live audience.
"It was a lovely way to finish off the last day before the school closure."
