Girlguiding has launched a free online resource hub packed with activities to entertain Helensburgh and Lomond's children and young people – and you don't have to be a Guide to make the most of it.
The UK’s leading charity for girls and young women are aiming to support children and families by bringing adventures into the home.
They have created a collection of their favourite indoor activities, opening up its programme of badges and activities for everyone in the area to enjoy.
Residents in Helensburgh do not need to be a member of Girlguiding to give these free resources a try, and will not need to purchase any special kits.
Adventures at Home is supported by global adventurer Anna McNuff, who ran 2,352 miles barefoot across the UK to inspire girls last year.

She said:” In these uncertain times it’s easy to think that fun and exploration are left at the door.
"But being an adventurer is a state of mind. Having an adventure is trying something new, it’s embracing play and making everyday extraordinary.”
The online pack has two keys parts available to everyone.
The first part is an ‘Activity a Day’ where the charity will share a fresh activity on their social feeds. The activities will include scavenger hunts around the house and story-creating challenges.
The second part is a selection of programme activities will be released weekly to ensure that Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers can still take part in Guiding.
Many Girlguiding volunteers across the UK have already been delivering virtual guiding with girls, running their weekly meetings using technology like Zoom and Whatsapp.
Moira McKenna, Scottish Chief Commissioner of Girlguiding said: “We’re all about trying new things and pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone which is why adventure doesn’t have to stop while we’re at home.”
The charity will be aiming to launch more initiatives to entertain children and bring people together over the coming months.
Anna McNuff will also be taking the UK on virtual adventures by hosting a live adventure storytelling session every Thursday at 7.30pm on her Facebook and Instagram channels.
