THE Ministry of Defence (MoD) says it has "well-rehearsed plans in place" to deal with the outbreak of coronavirus.
The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted borders to shut in countries across the world while sporting, cultural and political events have ground to a halt as the infection rate rises.
According to Scottish Government figures, 171 people in Scotland have tested positive for the virus, though a more accurate estimation is believed to be significantly higher. Two cases have been confirmed in the Highland health board area and a further 44 are in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde region.

There are currently no confirmed cases at HMNB Clyde and the MoD says it has a clear strategy in the event of an outbreak at the Faslane site, which will soon become home to the UK's entire nuclear submarine fleet.
An MoD spokesperson told the Advertiser: "The Ministry of Defence has put in place plans to ensure the delivery of its key operations in the UK and overseas.
"The MoD is well prepared for this outbreak of COVID-19 and has well-rehearsed plans in place for dealing with health matters."
