THREE people have been injured in a road accident in Helensburgh after a teenager allegedly took a car without the owner’s permission and crashed into another vehicle.
Police were called to the scene of the incident in Abercromby Street on the afternoon of Thursday, February 20, after receiving reports of a vehicle having hit a parked car.
The male driver, identified as a 16-year-old from the upper Helensburgh area, was allegedly found without a valid driving licence and had no insurance for the Volkswagen Polo which he had reportedly taken without the owner’s permission.

Officers also say the driver had not been wearing a seatbelt and had been observed driving in a careless manner prior to crashing the car.
Three passengers within the vehicle were treated for injuries sustained during the impact of the collision.
The driver was reported to the children’s reporter for the alleged offences.
