A HELENSBURGH teenager has been charged by police after allegedly damaging a tree in a town centre street.
Members of the public reportedly observed a boy, who was part of a larger group of youths around Lomond Street at East Argyle Street, breaking a young tree between six and eight feet tall and carrying it off along the street last Wednesday night, February 5.
The tree was then said to have been thrown onto the roof of a camper van parked at the location.
Police were contacted and officers eventually traced a 15-year-old male from the Churchill area; he has been charged with an alleged vandalism offence.
