A SECTION of a Helensburgh main road has been closed for public safety reasons as Storm Ciara continues to wreak havoc across the country.
Storm damage to the clock tower on East Clyde Street has shut the A814 between Sinclair Street and Maitland Street since around 3pm on Sunday, February 9, with diversion routes still in place on Monday morning.
High winds and heavy rain have caused disruption throughout the Helensburgh and Lomond area over the weekend, with weather warnings expected to last until Wednesday.

A statement on Argyll and Bute Council's website said: "The closed section will be re-opened only once it is considered safe to do so.
"Works to make safe the damage to the clock tower may be delayed until the storm abates."
