BEECHGROVE Garden presenter Brian Cuunningham will talk to Helensburgh audiences next week at the upcoming meeting of the area’s horticultural society.
Brian, who is also head gardener at Scone Palace, will discuss ‘The Grounds and Gardens of Scone Palace’, which were designed by J.C. Louden and are now one of Scotland’s greatest landscapes, with a fine tree collection and a magnificent Victorian Pinetum.
Brian's visit to Helensburgh will not be the first Beechgrove link to the town – one of his former colleagues, the legendary Jim McColl, who retired in 2019 after more than 40 years presenting the show, lived in Helensburgh with his family after Jim's dad, Tom, was appointed head of Helensburgh Town Council's parks department in 1954.

All are welcome to attend the event, which starts at 7.30pm at the Victoria Halls next Wednesday, February 12.
Before next week's event, flowering bulbs from all the local schools taking part in the society's school bulb project are now on display at Ardardan Estate near Cardross after the results of the project were judged on Friday.
