A WOMAN from Garelochhead was arrested for allegedly driving whilst “many times the legal alcohol limit” last week.
A member of the public contacted police shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, January 8 concerned that a female had been observed entering a yellow Citroen vehicle appearing to be under the influence.
The woman reportedly drove off from the village’s Main Road before being traced to an address in Queen’s Crescent.

The driver, a 54-year-old woman, is said to have failed a roadside breath test and was subsequently arrested before being taken to Clydebank police office, where analysis of further breath samples confirmed an alcohol reading “many times the legal limit”, according to police.
She was held in custody to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.
