HELENSBURGH train enthusiasts gave a final send-off to ScotRail’s Class 314 fleet as it visited the town for the last time.
The trains have been withdrawn from service after operating for more than 40 years across the west of Scotland, and rail fans enjoyed one last glimpse on a farewell tour last Wednesday.
State-of-the-art Hitachi Class 385 electric trains are replacing the 314 fleet, which took in Helensburgh Central station on its final journey, along with Glasgow Central, Ayr, Motherwell, Carstairs and Cumbernauld.

“I’ve always liked the look and sound of the trains,” he said.
