HERMITAGE Primary School in Helensburgh was transformed into a winter wonderland last week as staff, pupils and parents enjoyed the school’s annual Christmas fair.
Christmas carol singers, stalls selling handmade gifts, and even a teacher-led karaoke helped inspire the festive spirit last Friday.
Claire Walker, chair of the Hermitage Primary Parent Council (HPPC), said: “We wanted to create an impression of a winter wonderland, with lots of fairy lights, and the choir signing outside.

“We had fantastic donations from local community businesses which helped sell our hampers and we managed to raise just over £2,700, all of which goes straight back into the school.
“We had a flash mob, where one person starts singing and then everyone joins in, and a teacher started a conga through the hall.
“All the year groups made an item to sell at the fair and it was a really busy event.

“Things we had made that we didn’t sell, we are going to donate to the bank collection in town.
“We want to give something back to the children who are less fortunate at this time of year.”
Claire added: “It was a great event and all the feedback has been really positive. It had a nice Christmas atmosphere and that’s all you can ask for.
“Thanks to parents, staff, pupils and the community - it was an event that involved everybody and we couldn’t have done it without them.”
