Five standing ovations greeted the Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group’s latest show at the Victoria Halls.
Legally Blonde: The Musical, based on the hit 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, went down a storm with all those who saw the show from Wednesday to Saturday.
The group’s secretary, Pauline Forrest, said: “Legally Blonde the Musical was an extremely successful production for Helensburgh Savoy with some of the largest audiences we’ve had in the last few years.

"It was a challenging production for a small group but we feel we rose to the challenge and produced as professional looking a show as possible.
“We used ‘new to us’ technology with the projection of scenes on the back wall of the stage rather than backcloths, and this seemed to work very well in setting the scenes.
“Comments from our audiences have been very encouraging – ‘Another excellent show’; ‘Well worth going along – excellent cast and really funny’; ‘It was wonderful’; ‘Great show, great fun – well done Helensburgh talent’.

“Everyone, whether on the stage, backstage, in the band, on the sound desk or operating the lighting, had a great time being involved with the show.
“Helensburgh Savoy is very grateful to everyone outwith the club who helped us in any way in staging our show this year, as we couldn’t do it without their support and, of course, especially our audiences.”
