A NEW art exhibition featuring animals, stars of stage and screen and landscapes from around Helensburgh will be opened in the town by local antiques expert Roo Irvine at the end of the month.
Roo, from Kilcreggan, has appeared in Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on BBC One and will lend a helping hand at Helensburgh library on Tuesday, October 29 to unveil the Fantastic Helensburgh exhibition by Dorothy Whitaker.
Dorothy, who studied at Glasgow School of Art and spent 20 years as head of art in a secondary school in Buckinghamshire, England, has had exhibitions in Africa and Australia and some of her paintings are even in the personal collection of ex-president Banda of Malawi.

Dorothy’s husband Phil said: “The exhibition is a fantasy/dream interpretation of quite familiar Helensburgh premises and should provoke thought and some hilarity too.
“Animals, stars of stage and screen and landscapes all make strange but appropriate appearances.
“I certainly love it - but then I should as her husband!”
You can see the exhibition from Tuesday, October 29 when Roo Irvine opens it at 2pm in Helensburgh library. All are welcome.
